The A's won their second consecutive TigerTown Classic, defeating host Belle Plaine 4-3 in the championship game. Chace Pollock (1-0) went four scoreless innings in relief of starter Ben Bartling to get the win.
The A's fell behind 3-0 early in the game, and things looked bleak. But the A's were able to break into the scoring column with a run in the fourth inning, and the took the lead for good with a three run fifth inning. That inning was highlighted by a Tyler Flattum double, which scored a pair.
Pollock entered the game one pitch into the fourth inning when Bartling felt some discomfort in his forearm. Bartling had given up three runs, all earned in his three innings of work. He struck out three batters while allowing four hits.
Pollock struck out just one batter, but held the Tigers from scoring.
Flattum finished 1 for 3 with a pair of RBIs. Brandon Wilhelmi tripled and scored for the A's.
